WHAT MAKES THIS PLACE SPECIAL?

Saugerties is a quaint little town with cool old buildings that are full of vintage clothing/furniture shops, thrift stores, art galleries, and a ton of other trendy shops/places to eat. It is never too crowded and relatively unknown which is perfect for a relaxing trip. Make conversation with the locals to find out the coolest things going on around town.

MUST EAT:

  • Love Bites Café

  • Krause’s Chocolates

  • Dallas Hot Weiners ;) for the best worst-food

MUST SEE:

  • The Saugerties Lighthouse

  • Opus 40 Sculpture Park

  • Overlook Mountain

MUST DO:

  • Tour neighboring town of Woodstock—20 minutes away

  • Hike in one of the many nearby mountain ranges

  • First Fridays—walk around the village on the first Friday of every month for cool pop-up shops, food trucks and a ton of other cool things!

Other Recommendations: If you come in the fall be sure to stop by the Garlic Festival--people come from far away for it every year! If you come in the summer, go to a nearby swimming hole and go cliff-jumping, or kayak on the Esopus Creek. Definitely try as many spots to eat as possible, there’s a lot in a small vicinity.
