WHAT MAKES THIS PLACE SPECIAL? It’s a super cultural but urban city! Hong Kong is a mix of super old temples and street shops that are located right in the business district next to 100 floor skyscrapers. The skyline and the history is amazing.
MUST EAT:
-
Real Dimsum
-
Garlic Noodles (street food)
-
Traditional Cantonese style dinner (whole steamed fish, soup as the last course, etc.)
MUST SEE:
-
Ozone Bar (highest bar in the world)
-
LKF (the clubbing district right in the middle of the business district, Central)
-
The Peak (highest point on HK Island)
MUST DO:
-
Hike Dragon’s Back, HK’s most iconic trail
-
Ride the Star Ferry that connects HK Island to Kowloon Side (the 2 main parts of HK)
-
Ned Kelly’s Last Stand (Jazz bar on Kowloon side that’s been there since colonial rule)
Other Recommendations: Live somewhere on HK Island!! The MTR (subway system) is amazing and you won’t ever need a car, but HK Island is where all the fun stuff is located. It will be worth it to pay a little more to stay on the island as opposed to Kowloon side. It takes around 2 hours to take a walk through the main part of Hong Kong Island, through all the districts, and there’s a lot of good food along the way!
