Check out the Roman ruins of The Bardo and Carthage, if you have more time, check out Dougga and El Jem, too.

Spend a couple days at the beach, either Hammamet or Sousse were nice. The island of Djerba is beautiful, also.

Take a trip down to the desert area, visit an oasis and the take a camel ride. Visit Tatouine and Mednine. Spend a night in the ghorfas of Matmata, ( Star Wars was filmed in this area.)
Other Recommendations: Be sure to walk as much as possible, once you are aware of the areas to beware of. Get out of the city and enjoy the country side. You must walk through at least one
Souk/medina, best to do a couple/few as each has its own atmosphere. If you still have time, go to Kairouan and check out the beautiful handmade rugs, make an offer!
